Roses are one of the most versatile flowers in the language of flowers.  You can quite literally use a single bouquet of multi-colored roses to send a whole variety of messages.

This time we’re focusing on the Pink Rose.  The Pink Rose has many meanings and, in fact, the color “Rose” tends to refer to a shade of pink.

Generic Meaning: Perfect Happiness; Please Believe Me; Grace; Elegance; Sweetness; Poetic Romance; Thankfulness

Also depending on the shade of pink it can mean the following: Pale Pink: Gentleness, Admiration, Joy Dark Pink: Gratitude, Appreciation

Roses are woody, perennial shrubs that are native to Asia, North America, Europe, and Northern Africa.  Roses are one of the most ubiquitous and hardy garden plants.  They can be found all over the world and many grow naturally in the wild, where they can be used as a survival food.

All species of the Rosa genus are edible, although some cultivars are better and more tasty than others.  It’s generally not recommended to use garden cultivars in herbalism, although the rose is a staple in both western and eastern herbalism.

Pink Roses are often used in wedding bouquets, as well as coming of age parties.  Pale Pink Roses are often called “Maiden’s Blush” roses and can symbolize the sweetness of youth.
