Soft Hands is the story of Xander, a professional hockey player, and Jordan, the team trainer and massage therapist.
Xander is a bit of a player, partially because he’s at least half in love with his best friend and his best friend’s wife. Obviously, he can’t have either of them, so he’s settling for one night stands. Jordan, meanwhile, wants something permanent and long-term, but hasn’t found the right guy yet.
Of course, they start falling in love - despite Jordan’s insistence that he’s not doing more than friends with a player.
I thought both of the characters were handled really well, particularly their sexualities. Xander being bi and a player is never looked down on; Jordan just makes it clear it’s not what he’s looking for.
Plus, they were sexy.
I admit the whole hockey storyline wasn’t my thing. But that’s because I’m really not a sports person. Like, at all.
But if you like sports romance, this is probably the right mix of sports and romance.
I also liked the side characters - Jordan’s Nana, Marian, and Justin and Brooke in particular. They were all great and I’d happily read more stories featuring any or all of them.
All in all, it was a great book, and thus I happily give it
Five Stars
