Book Review: Done Deal

Updated: Dec 8, 2022

I haven’t read Lynda Aicher, and it’s been a long time since I’ve read anything by Harlequin, but I decided to check this out. Because why not?

Trevor James is the high-powered CEO of a successful firm, but it’s not what he wants. Pressured into power by his father, Trevor escapes the daily grind by indulging in a safe, sane, and consensual sex-positive sex group. However escape is impossible because of Danielle. The one woman he wants more than anything else, and the one he will never expose to the cruelties of his overbearing father. But at least here, in the Boardroom, he can get a taste of the dream.

This short story takes steam to the sauna level.

The sex in this is hot. Like scorchingly hot. It’s very well described and doesn’t forget about the emotions and thoughts that the characters have.

Speaking of characters, I really liked Danielle and Trevor. And I really wanted to read more about them. I was rooting for them the whole time. Which is important. Likable characters are a must, especially in the rigid constraints of a 13,000 word story. Trevor has the right balance of vulnerability and alphaness to make him likable. Danielle has one of the best sex-positive attitudes I’ve seen. She knows who she is. She knows what she wants. But she’s also got the tiniest hints of insecurity and yearning that keeps her human. The only thing that lessened my enjoyment is that I wanted more!

LOL.

This novella is a set up for a larger series and I’ll definitely be interested in checking it out. Especially if they continue Danielle and Trevor’s stories. I like anything that is sex-positive and showcases not only safe-sex practices but sane-sex practices.

It’s a solid Four Stars!
